News Updater v1.0

Introduction

Well, the first think I want to make it clear that I have nothing to do with euronews.net, I made this addon just for my laziness of going on the site every time.

So lets have a look at our addon. This is an updater of News so here we have an addon very updated to what is going on in the world.

Any unauthorised modification of the addon is considered as illegal, if not permitted by the author.

Installation

So lets have a look at what we've got here

First of all to install it extract all files in newsupdater.zip into $mircdir then go to mIRC and type /load -rs newsupdater\news.mrc in any edit box.

If everythink is ok a message on the active window should say "Welcome to News Updater."

How to use it

First go to any menu and select "News Update"

Then a dialog pops up,

with: a button "Get News", another one "OK" and a list box where news will be displayed.

The "Get News" one is there for bringing news updates. (this process will take between 10 - 20 seconds depending on your connection)

Then there's the menu, in Options you could find:

"Log News"

"Msg News in Chan"

"Auto Update"

Well, "Log News" is there for keep a record of the news that currently happened and stores them in news.txt, it has "On" and "Off" as parameters.

"Msg News in Chan" is there for sending news to the channel you want. Note: The news that will be displayed are those you see in the dialog.

"Auto Update" is there for displaying news on a specified window or channel, it has "On" and "Off" as parameters.

This function uses a principle of "if previous news == current news" will return $null,

but if current news is different it will display the news so the same news will never be displayed 2 times.

Then there's Help:

"Help File" to view this help file.

"About" to view the About dialog.
